  30.   Have you looked at any of the RTG boards that are out there?  I am using
  31.  a Picasso II board in my 3000 with a toaster and everything works fine. I
  32.  am running the 2.0 toaster software, I haven't gotten 3.0  yet.  I can
  33.  run workbench at 1100x900x (2-256 colors) and run the toaster no problem.
  34.  They are also coming out with a composite/svhs adapter for the board so
  35.  that you can run the output of the board into a toaster input,  pretty
  36.  nice feature, that means you will be able to use TVPaint and XIPaint as
  37.  the paint package for your toaster.  In any case, the 1100x900x256 color
  38.  resolutions are several times faster (in an A3000/040) than a 640x480x256
  39.  color modes on an A4000/040 (I have both machines).   You can promote the
  40.  current lightwave and modeler screens so that they are running on the 
  41.  Picasso II board,  not that they are resolutions sensitive (they don't
  42.  scale themselves),  but they do look better.  Anyhow, just a thought,
  43.  it works for me.  BTW I forgot to mention that the Picasso II plugs into
  44.  a Zorro slot, so you don't have to worry about your video slot.

  58.   The entire NEC line of monitors is carefully tuned to meet industry standard
  59.  resolutions.  The vertical banding you are seeing is probably a moira(moray)
  60.  (how do you spell that) pattern that is the result of a combination of pixel
  61.  clock, the tubes mask,  the dot pitch, and the current resolution you are 
  62.  running in.  As far as it being dark, I have seen that also, and that appears
  63.  to be a termination problem with the amiga and the NEC's.  How did you get 
  64.  an NEC to work with the T4000?  Currently NewTek requires that you have
  65.  a 1084 hooked up to boot a toaster on the 4000 as that is where they are
  66.  getting sync from (tricky huh? also a silly way to do it).

  76.  off,  waiting for the 4000 Tower.
